During the first International Inventors Conference held on 11 July 1968 in London, the first effective international cooperation between the national inventors’ associations was fostered and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations was formed. The representatives of seven inventor associations from Denmark, Finland, West Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland were present at the conference.
The International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) was established in 1968 by Mr. Harald, Director of the Swedish Inventions Office, and Mr. Leif Nordstrand. The first President of IFIA was Mr. W.A. Richardson, with Dr. F. Burmester, S. Green, F. Pfaffli, H. Romanus, and S. Green serving as vice presidents and Mr. A. L. T. Cotterell as Secretary. The IFIA Secretariat was located in London, and the first bulletin was published in September 1968. The federation's objectives were declared by the president in this bulletin. The first international symposium on the situation of inventors was held in 1984 in Geneva, jointly organized by IFIA and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Alireza Rastegar was elected as the President of the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018, serving until 2022. He has been an Honorary President for several international conferences in various fields and is a member of several science and art organizations, including the International Invention Jury Board and the House of Literature. He is also an IFIA Representative during official visits to 50 countries and has participated in WIPO international workshops, receiving certificates. He possesses 9 patents and a Certificate of Introduction to the Patent Cooperation Treaty from WIPO ACADEMY. He is an Honorary Member of the Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers and a partner of the Croatia International Invention and Economy Forum 2014
Dr. Marcelo Vivacqua is an inventor, researcher, and academic professor with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. He is the founder of The Brazilian and International Innovative Inventors and Researchers Association (ABIPIR) and was instrumental in setting up the India Chapter of IFIA. He was appointed as IFIA's Director of Latin America in 2021 by IFIA President Mr. Rastegar. Dr. Vivacqua is currently working for the Science, Technology, and Innovation Department of the Government of Espirito Santo State, and he is the coach of a workshop called Excellence in Smart Innovation Program, which helps professional inventors increase their creativity and entrepreneurship skills. He has also created the Latin American Intelligence in Innovation Agency to support inventors in IFIA and ABIPIR to connect with investors worldwide. Dr. Vivacqua has earned multiple awards at international innovations fairs for his work in developing treatments in the areas of non-surgical castration and cancer in mammals.

●Worked with Govt. of Bhutan to inculcate the value of innovation to make economy sustainable.
●Presented an Innovation & Entrepreneurship seminar for faculty of IIIT-Ulna, India.
●Partnered with BRICS to send Indian manufacturing startup ideas for BRICS industrial awards.
●Sent 400+ startups for IFIA-OFEED Morocco event & 6 were awarded Gold certificate.
●Sent 20+ startups for IFIA-INNOPA event & 10 were awarded Gold certificate.
●Working closely with several state governments to partner & work jointly in India & Brazil for finding solutions to plaguing public issues.
●We already have 1 regional headquarters in Mangalore & 7 sub chapters of IFIA Bharat office ready for setting up in different parts of the country.

AIC SKU, Ananthapur was the first sub chapter opened in India by IFIA Bharat in a tier 2 city.We have been working with the incubation center & its incubates in araes of ideation, commercialization & IPR events.
AIC CGU happens to be the first gateway to the East of India for IFIA Bharat.
With AIC Nalada,IFIA Bharat has launched a startup connect program with Brazil,where Indian startups & especially startups from Eastern India can access Brazilian markets.

Bharat gets its first INV certified member recognized by IFIA.
We join in to congratulate Dr.Shivakiran Makam, who is a board advisor in IFIA Bharat office was conferred the prestigious INV title.
Inventor title –INV title which is only offered by IFIA which is authorized body recognized by World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
IFIA is one of the bodies recognized by US government whose INV title is highly valued.
